GTA 6 voice actors: who plays Jason and Lucia?

Rockstar has not named the voice actors for Jason Duval or Lucia Caminos, and it has not published a cast list. The only actor on record is Stephen Root, who told the Associated Press in an interview reported on 14 September 2026 that he is in the game.

Checked 3 October 2026. We update this page when Rockstar publishes more.

What Rockstar has published

Rockstar's Only in Leonida pages give short biographies for eight characters: Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. We read the page on 3 October 2026. It credits no voice actor, cast member or performer.

Our own pages hold only what Rockstar has said: GTA 6 characters, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. The three official videos are listed on our trailers page.

The one actor on record

Stephen Root, known for King of the Hill, was asked by the Associated Press whether he is in Grand Theft Auto VI. He said yes: players will see him in it. Kotaku, Variety and NME all reported it in September 2026.

Variety and NME link him to Brian Heder, the Keys drug runner. Rockstar's biography of Brian Heder names no actor, so the link between Root and that part rests on those outlets and not on a Rockstar credit.

Variety adds that online sleuths had matched his voice to Rockstar's promotional footage long before he spoke. NME notes that Rockstar has not officially confirmed the cast.

Jason and Lucia

Rockstar has not named the actor behind either lead in the pages above. No actor has confirmed a role as Jason or Lucia to a named outlet that we could read.

Fans have put names to both leads. We leave those names out. A match made from a voice or a social media account is not a credit. We cannot check it against a Rockstar page or the actor's own words, and a wrong name attached to a real person does harm. Root's case shows a fan match can be right. It also shows what we wait for: the person, or Rockstar, saying so.

What GTA V did

This section is about Grand Theft Auto V, not VI. None of it is confirmed for VI.

Rockstar's first GTA V trailer came out on 2 November 2011, according to the Grand Theft Auto Wiki. Game Informer profiled the game's three leads, Michael, Trevor and Franklin, on 19 November 2012, and its article names no voice actor. The game was released on 17 September 2013, per Rockstar's Newswire.

The same wiki page says Ned Luke, Shawn Fonteno and Steven Ogg were selected to play Michael, Franklin and Trevor after an audition process. Luke told TheGamer in 2020 that he was "outed in like 15 minutes" when the game's first trailer was livestreamed, and that he then stayed off social media until the game came out.

So Game Informer was profiling the three GTA V leads almost ten months before release without naming their actors. We could not find a date on which Rockstar itself named the cast, so we give none.

What we do not know yet

Rockstar has not said who plays Jason or Lucia, or whether it will publish a cast list before 19 November 2026. It has not said how much of the game is played as either of them. Until it does, or an actor confirms a role on record, the honest answer is that the leads are uncredited.
