Port Gellhorn in GTA 6: what Rockstar has confirmed

Port Gellhorn is a run-down coastal resort area in Grand Theft Auto VI, one of six places Rockstar Games has named in the state of Leonida, and its official description is about decline rather than glamour.

What Rockstar says it is

Port Gellhorn appears in the Places part of Only in Leonida on Rockstar's official Grand Theft Auto VI site. Rockstar heads the entry Live Hard and introduces it in one line: "This is Leonida's forgotten coast."

The description sets out what has gone: cheap motels, closed attractions and empty strip malls, none of which, Rockstar says, will bring the tourists back. It then names what replaced them: a new economy fuelled by malt liquor, painkillers and truck stop energy drinks. The entry ends by suggesting a dirt bike and advising you to hold on to your wallet.

Where it sits in the state of Leonida

Away from the glamour. The word forgotten does the positioning: Port Gellhorn is the counterweight to Vice City and the Leonida Keys, which Rockstar sells on sunshine. It has not said which coast this is, and no published biography places a named character there.

What the official material shows

Rockstar's own captions for its Port Gellhorn stills describe two men in a room lit by grow lamps, one with a shovel and one with a baseball bat, a motel at night with the vacancy sign lit, and a woman leaning into a car window to hand a package to a man in the back seat.

Neither trailer description mentions Port Gellhorn. The named places were published separately. Trailer 2, in May 2025, opened on Vice City and set out the shared story of Jason and Lucia.

What we do not know yet

Rockstar has not published a map, a scale, or any district, street or business name for Port Gellhorn. It has not said what the new economy means in gameplay terms, whether any of it is a mission type, or how the town connects to the rest of Leonida.

The Grassrivers and Ambrosia sit on the locations index with the rest, and Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos on the characters index. See also the countdown page and GTA 6 cheats.
