Grassrivers in GTA 6: what Rockstar has confirmed

Grassrivers is the wetland region of Grand Theft Auto VI, one of six places Rockstar Games has named in the state of Leonida, and its official description is built around what you cannot see under the water.

What Rockstar says it is

Grassrivers sits in the Places part of Only in Leonida on Rockstar's official Grand Theft Auto VI site. Rockstar heads the entry Welcome to the Wetlands and introduces it as "The untamable jewel of Leonida's crown."

The description then plays down the obvious. It calls the area a primordial expanse whose surface hides what lies beneath. Alligators, Rockstar says, are the famous attraction, but the mangroves hold predators more dangerous than they are, along with discoveries it only calls weirder.

Where it sits in the state of Leonida

Close enough to the city to see it. One Rockstar caption describes a speedboat heading towards buildings raised on piers, with the Vice City skyline in the distance. That is the clearest official sign that the wetlands and the city sit on one continuous map. No published biography places a named character here.

What the official material shows

Rockstar's own captions for its Grassrivers stills describe three people covered in mud posing on an airboat with a dead alligator and a dead wildcat, two of them armed. A second caption describes two people in an airboat surrounded by alligators, one aiming a gun at the nearest. A third describes a helicopter and two police cars chasing a pick-up truck through the swamp.

Neither trailer description names Grassrivers. The named places were published separately. Rockstar also released a longer video, An Extended Look, captured entirely from PlayStation 5 gameplay footage.

What we do not know yet

Rockstar has not published a map, a scale, or a single settlement name in Grassrivers. It has not said what the deadlier predators are, what the weirder discoveries are, or whether hunting, fishing and airboats are player activities rather than scenery. Nothing official ties Jason Duval or Lucia Caminos to the wetlands.

The other named places, including the Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia, are on the locations index. See also the countdown page and GTA 6 cheats.
