GTA 6 editions and price

There are two editions of Grand Theft Auto VI, Standard and Ultimate. On the PlayStation Store today the Standard Edition is 79.99 US dollars or 69.99 pounds and the Ultimate Edition is 99.99 US dollars or 89.99 pounds, with an Ultimate Edition Upgrade sold separately for owners of the Standard Edition.

The prices on the store listings

Rockstar's own game page carries no price, so every figure below comes from a storefront listing we opened and read on the date above.

From the PlayStation Store and Xbox store listings, checked 19 September 2026. Prices in other countries differ and are set by the storefront, not by us.

The dollar prices are on the US PlayStation Store listing and the Xbox store listing, which also shows the upgrade at 20 dollars. The sterling prices are on the UK PlayStation Store listing. Push Square reported both US prices on 24 June 2026, the day Rockstar detailed the editions.

What comes with a pre-order

One bonus set, shared by both editions, and a deadline that is slightly later than you might assume.

The Xbox and PlayStation listings both word the bonus deadline as a purchase before 19 November 2026 at 23:59:59, not as a pre-order cut off. They differ on the GTA+ month: the Xbox listing says it has to be redeemed within 180 days, and the US PlayStation listing says by 31 March 2027. Two storefronts, two slightly different sentences, which is why we quote each one rather than flattening them into a single rule.

There is no physical Ultimate Edition, and the physical Standard Edition is a box with a download code in it rather than a disc. Rockstar support says the Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be bought separately at any time, so buying Standard now does not shut the door. See Grand Theft Auto VI Platforms, Editions, and Versions.

What is actually inside the Ultimate Edition

We are not going to repeat it here, because it deserves the detail and one of the common claims about it is overstated. Rockstar's edition comparison names five locations, including two vehicle mod shops, that it says are open for business only with the Ultimate Edition, and it lists vehicles, weapons and apparel alongside them. The full item by item table, in Rockstar's own words, plus the part of the popular version of this story that Rockstar has never actually said, is on the Ultimate Edition and mod shop page.

What Take-Two has said about the price

Rockstar has not commented on the pricing. Its parent company has. On the Take-Two investor call of 7 August 2026, chief executive Strauss Zelnick said Rockstar had "got it right" on the pricing of both editions, described pre-orders in strong terms, and argued that game prices have risen more slowly than inflation.

That is a named executive defending a decision on a public call, which is worth recording, and it is not evidence about value. Nothing on this page is a recommendation to buy either edition.

Things people mistake for editions

Three, all real products, none of them an edition of the game.

What is not known

Three gaps worth stating plainly.
