Sony's PlayStation pages label Grand Theft Auto VI "PS5 Pro Enhanced", but neither Sony nor Rockstar has said what that means. No frame rate or resolution has been published for PlayStation 5 or PS5 Pro.

What is confirmed for GTA VI
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Sony's PlayStation page for the game shows a "PS5 Pro Enhanced" badge and says the game is released for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro on that date. The UK page says the same, and the PlayStation Store listing carries the tag. GamingBolt reported it on 24 June 2026 and wrote that how the game will use the console's hardware was unknown.
That is the whole of it. We found no description under the badge. The feature list beside it covers DualSense haptics, adaptive triggers, the controller speaker, Tempest 3D AudioTech and fast loading from the SSD. It names no frame rate, resolution, ray tracing or upscaling.
Rockstar's game page, as we could read it, carries the label "Plays Best On PlayStation 5" and does not mention PS5 Pro. The PlayStation Blog post of 24 June 2026 says that, thanks to Sony's close partnership with Rockstar, VI will play best on PS5. It describes no PS5 Pro enhancement.
What the label means
Sony's own PS5 Pro page says PS5 Pro enhanced features vary by game. Its launch post says such games can be identified by the label in their title. So the badge alone does not say which improvements VI gets. It could be resolution, frame rate, ray tracing or something else, and nobody official has said.
What the trailers were captured on
Rockstar names PlayStation 5 for its footage. It has not said whether that means the base console or the Pro.
| Video | Wording | Left open |
|---|---|---|
| Trailer 2, May 2025 | "captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5" | VGC, 7 May 2025: not clear whether base or Pro. Push Square read it as a standard PS5. |
| An Extended Look, 27 August 2026 | "Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5" | Kotaku, 27 August 2026: the wording may name the platform in general, not a model. |
The Extended Look wording is the caption on PlayStation's game page, and Rockstar's own Extended Look page describes the film in the same terms. We found no hardware wording from Rockstar for Trailer 1, so we claim none.
Frame rate and resolution
Not announced. Rockstar, Sony and Microsoft have published no frame rate or resolution for any console.
The one figure in circulation traces to Rob Nelson of Rockstar North. Kotaku (27 August 2026) and VGC (28 August 2026) reported, from the YouTuber Davy Jones and the outlet Flow Games, that Nelson said the consoles run the game at 30 frames per second during development. They also reported that he would need to ask the technical team about a 60 frames per second option, and that he had no details on resolution.
Treat that as reported, not official. It is second hand and describes a development build. Kotaku noted that the report gave no sense of whether PS5 Pro would get extra options.
Verified. Not guessed. Any table comparing GTA 6 on PS5 and PS5 Pro is a guess, because Rockstar and Sony have published no figure for either. This page is updated when Rockstar publishes more.
