Is GTA 6 on Game Pass?

No. Rockstar, Sony and Microsoft have announced no Game Pass or PlayStation Plus deal for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the stores sell it from 79.99 US dollars. Take-Two's chief executive has said day-one subscription launches make no sense for its frontline games.

What is confirmed for GTA VI

The Xbox store listing and the Xbox game page sell the game with a price and a pre-order button. In the text we could read, neither shows a Game Pass label. Sony's PlayStation page mentions no PlayStation Plus tier, and we found no mention of either service on Rockstar's game page.

The only subscription named on the pre-order pages is GTA+, Rockstar's own membership. Rockstar's game page lists one month of it as a bonus with digital pre-orders, and describes the free month as a deposit into a GTA Online character's bank account. GTA Online belongs to Grand Theft Auto V, so this is a V benefit, not a Game Pass or PlayStation Plus deal. For online, see GTA 6 online.

What it costs to buy

With no subscription route announced, buying is the only way to play on 19 November 2026. The detail is on GTA 6 editions and price, and the offers on GTA 6 pre-order.

The prices are on the US and UK PlayStation Store listings and the Xbox store listing, which also shows the upgrade.

What Take-Two's chief executive has said

In the reports we read, Strauss Zelnick does not name GTA VI. He has set out Take-Two's policy on subscriptions more than once, and two of those reports follow.

In a June 2022 GamesIndustry.biz video interview, Video Games Chronicle reported, Zelnick said Take-Two's scepticism is about frontline console games being available day and date with a subscription. He said that "doesn't make any sense to us" economically, and that subscriptions can suit older catalogue titles.

In August 2024, VGC reported that, asked whether Microsoft putting Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Game Pass on day one would change Take-Two's approach, he said it would not, because "our decisions are rational."

Both are statements of policy, not an announcement about VI. We found no statement from Rockstar or Take-Two about a subscription release of VI at any date.

What GTA V did

This section is about Grand Theft Auto V, not VI. None of it is confirmed for VI. The Grand Theft Auto Wiki dates its launch to 17 September 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The earliest entry in the table came more than six years later.

The table lists the arrivals and the one exit we could source, not every stay in between. It shows what GTA V did years after launch. It does not predict what VI does.
