GTA 6 wanted level cheat: lower or raise it

Rockstar has not announced a wanted level cheat for Grand Theft Auto VI, and we found no description of a wanted level in the pages we checked. In Grand Theft Auto V, one cheat raised it by one star and another lowered it by one star.

What is confirmed for GTA VI

Rockstar's game page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and a launch on 19 November 2026. On that page and on the Only in Leonida pages we found no mention of cheats or of a wanted level. Whether VI uses stars to show police attention is not announced.

What Rockstar does say about the law

The only official words we found that touch it are one line of backstory and two captions. Rockstar's biography of Lucia Caminos says "Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary." Its caption for one of her stills describes her walking through a jail, handcuffed, in an orange jumpsuit. A caption on the Grassrivers page describes a helicopter and two police cars chasing a pick-up truck through the swamp.

That is all, and it is story and scenery. It does not say whether the player can be arrested, whether a wanted level exists, or how either would work. Our page on Lucia Caminos has the rest of her biography.

What GTA V did

This section is about Grand Theft Auto V, not VI. None of it is confirmed for VI.

GTA V had two wanted level cheats, and they were opposites. The Grand Theft Auto Wiki and PCGamesN describe the same pair. The table leaves out the codes on purpose.

The one star rule has a practical result. Clearing a three star level took three uses of the lower cheat. That follows from the rule. No source states it as a tip.

Where they worked

In GTA V, the wiki says, a cheat can be denied on a mission or activity, in a restricted area, or when certain other cheats are active. GTABoom's FAQ lists eight cheats that are blocked during missions, and neither wanted level cheat is among them. Rockstar's support page says some cheats are unavailable in certain parts of the game, and the game then shows "Cheat Denied: Cannot activate that cheat right now." (Rockstar Support). We have not tested this in GTA V ourselves.

What it cost

In GTA V, the wiki says, activating a cheat disables all achievements and trophies for the duration of the game session. It adds that a cheat activated during a mission limits that attempt to a bronze medal. NME also says cheats disable achievements and cap mission ratings at bronze.
