No. Rockstar has not announced an official companion app for Grand Theft Auto VI. Grand Theft Auto V had two, announced the week that game came out. Unofficial companion apps exist today, and Vicedex is one of them.

What is confirmed for GTA VI
Rockstar's game page covers the launch date of 19 November 2026, the two trailers, the Ultimate Edition, the pre-order bonus, the Vice City Collection, the album and the people and places of Leonida. It does not mention an app.
The three newest Newswire posts listed on that page do not either. They cover the Vice City Collection on 24 September 2026, the album on 17 September 2026 and An Extended Look on 27 August 2026.
So there is no official GTA 6 companion app to download, and no date for one. Stories that say one is on the way are not announcements, and we do not repeat them here. If Rockstar announces an app, this page changes that day.
Verified. Not guessed. An app that calls itself the official GTA 6 companion today is not one. Rockstar has announced none.
What GTA V had
This section is about Grand Theft Auto V, not VI. None of it is confirmed for VI.
On 16 September 2013, the week Grand Theft Auto V came out, Rockstar announced "a special pair of totally free companion apps" (Rockstar Newswire).
| App | What it did |
|---|---|
| Grand Theft Auto: iFruit | Two parts. Los Santos Customs let you build a vehicle away from the console and reserve custom licence plates for GTA V and GTA Online. Chop the Dog was a virtual pet: look after Franklin's dog in the app and it paid off when you played as Franklin. |
| Grand Theft Auto V: The Manual | The game manual as a free app of more than 100 pages, for phones, tablets and desktop computers. It held the controls, the features, the credits and a tour of the game's activities. |
Two things are worth taking from that. iFruit was linked to the game: Rockstar wrote that it hooked directly into your Grand Theft Auto V experience. And neither app, as Rockstar described them, listed cheat codes.
What an unofficial companion app can do
An independent app has no link to the game. It cannot read your save, change your car or unlock anything. What it can do is hold reference material and your own notes: a countdown, a map to plan on, a checklist, and cheat codes once they exist.
That is what Vicedex is. It is a free iPhone app, listed on the App Store as Cheats & Checklist for GTA 6, and it is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive (App Store). It has a countdown, a sketch map of Leonida with the six places Rockstar has named, a launch checklist and sourced news. Its cheats list is empty, because we publish a code only after it has been entered on a retail copy. The full description is on GTA 6 cheats app for iPhone.
Before installing any GTA 6 app, read the first lines of its store listing. An honest unofficial app says that it is unofficial. One that shows a full list of GTA 6 cheat codes before 19 November 2026 has not tested them on the game, as GTA 6 cheats explains.
